Yes, we all draw up a list of the famous ones like, lose weight, quit smoking, spend more time with the family but how many of us really keep up with them. I never did. Besides, its too much pressure to start the new year with.
I say forget the resolutions. Resolutions dissolve quickly. Let’s draft out a plan instead.
Its a new year and we all feel like its an open opportunity at a clean slate.
Why not make a realistic blue print as to what you want out of 2011. Better yet, what are you willing to work for to get the most out of 2011. Start small and build from there. You have 12 months to play with.
Before you begin to list, remember why you want to live out these goals and what the prize will be once you reach them.
Make A Choice
We all want the best out of life but we haven’t really set our eyes on why we want to make a choice for the better. Once you make up your mind and set your focus on meeting that goal you will be able to acheive it.
The hardest part after making the right choice, is committing to it. Nothing worth while comes easy. There are no shortcuts. We will have to overcome the hurdles and break down the walls of doubt in order to stand our ground and fulfill our short and long term goals.
Believe me, once you commit to it, the rest is easy.
When you reach your goal (and yes I said it because you will reach your goal) keep going. Don’t stop because you got what you worked for, go for more! The sky is the limit. Success is never ending.
So instead of making just a list of resolutions, make a goal instead.
Remember, even the best written out plans have detours, intermissions, and delays but don’t fret. Don’t lose focus and get back on track as soon as you can. Its your life and only you can make the best of it.
Take care of the possible and leave the impossible to man upstairs.
Happy New Year!
