As the 2016 school year comes to a close and summer is on the horizon, students are invited to trade in their textbooks for exciting thrills at Luna Park on Coney Island. Luna Park, New York City’s largest amusement park, wants to help hard-working students jumpstart their summer vacation by offering bonus credits for exhilarating rides by simply showing off the grades on their report cards.
From June 1st through June 30th, students can “redeem” up to five grades from any 2016 report card, earning the maximum of 20 ride credits. Grade A receives 4 credits; Grade B receives 3 credits and Grade C receives 2 credits. With these credits, guests can experience WindstarZ, Air Race, Steeple Case, and many more of the electrifying rides that Luna Park has to offer. All students, from kindergarten through college, who make the ‘grade,’ should bring their report cards to Guest Services for their rewards.
“At Luna Park, we love celebrating the academic achievement of students, near and far,” says Alberto Zamperla, President of Zamperla Group and operator of Luna Park. “Since the program’s conception in 2013, we’ve enjoyed rewarding students who have worked so hard by helping them welcome a much-deserved summer vacation.”
As a final nod to the scholastic success of students, Luna Park will hold its annual School’s Out Celebration on Thursday, June 30th. This year, the park is partnering with Sony Music to host a free concert for guests.
