Calling all adventure-seekers who are tired of being cooped up. The legendary and iconic Coney Island Cyclone, WindstarZ, Thunderbolt and more are all back! Coney Island’s Luna Park, New York’s largest amusement park, will be re-opening on Sunday, March 20that 12pm.
In honor of the new season, Luna Park will be unveiling the newly refurbished Coney Island Cyclone roller coaster. The historic and iconic coaster, which has brought fearless daredevils to the park for almost a century, has recently been refurbished and painted, by Baynum Painting, to bring it back to what it looked like the day it opened in 1927.
The most thrilling place in New York will also launch its brand new Platinum Wristband, which allows visitors to experience some of Luna Park’s most thrilling rides at a discounted rate. The wristband includes four hours of unlimited rides plus deals on five of Luna Park’s most exciting rides: The Thunderbolt, Coney Island Cyclone, Zenobio, Slingshot, and Coney Island Raceway. With the purchase of a $70 wristband, visitors can experience each ride once or choose their favorite ride up to five times, a deal valued at $140.

Brooklyn’s Borough President Eric Adams along with local stakeholders and elected officials will be in attendance on opening day. A press conference, egg cream christening and ceremony will be held in front of the Cyclone at 11:30am to open Coney Island for the season. In honor of the Cyclone, the Cyclone Café will be adding “Cyclone Burgers” to the menu. Brooklyn Seltzer Boys will be providing egg cream samples for the first 150 guests. Also joining in on the extravaganza will be New York’s favorite, Mr. Met.
Luna Park will only be open on weekends from March 20th to Memorial Day. It will open seven days- a- week beginning Memorial Day weekend. Starting the holiday weekend, Luna Park will be open for seven days a week throughout the summer and visitors will have the opportunity to ride the brand new and breathtaking Endeavour! Luna Park’s newest ride combines new cutting edge technology with the classic nostalgic feeling to present an open-air ride that gives riders the sensation of flying sixty feet through the air at 25 miles per hour.
Luna Park is conveniently located near delicious restaurants, the iconic boardwalk and the beautiful beach; giving Luna Park’s visitors plenty of spots to escape for some relaxation once they have had their fill of high speeds and adrenaline.
