As a woman, working parent, child of a single mom as I was growing up, and Latina, society says I have three strikes against me. These strikes mean that I get penalized and if you are a woman so do you.
Housing discrimination is rampant. Hiring discrimination against single parents is out of control. And, pay… well, that’s lower…much, much lower. In fact, as a Latina I make 54 cents for every dollar that a White man makes. This isn’t much better if you are a White woman or a Black woman. You will still earn less than a White man doing the same job.
This is unfair.
But, we are NOT powerless. We have power. Our power is our vote. Today, November 4, I am pledging to vote for the Women’s Equality Party.
The Women’s Equality Party is a new party that is debuting in New York. We need 50,000 votes to make it official. Will you join me?
Use your power, vote today!
