In December, Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies revealed the Jiménez family as
LA FAMILIA DE HOY™. Juan, Biviana and their three children: Elisa, Diego and Benicio are a modern, active, multicultural family – representative of all the values that Hispanics relate to and care about. It’s wonderful to celebrate our culture and the beauty that is La Familia De Hoy because we can all relate to the Jimenez family in one way, shape or form.
The Jimenez family is part of a larger family: The Jimenez brothers are 4, 3 wives, 8 children and one grandmother. The three married brothers live right next to each other with connecting backyards and the fourth brother lives close by. Sounds like something out of a television series, right? The grandmother is right there with them, living in the house with Juan and his family where she raised her children. Much like the Jimenez family, my family also lives very near to one another. Although we don’t live a backyard away, we’re only minutes from one another. Some people ask why I chose to live so close to my parents and in-laws but the reason is simple. We all help one another and so being in a close proximity alleviates a lot of stressors that come from raising a family. For example, if my daughter is sick and has to leave school early, I can easily call my mother-in-law who can just walk to my house, pick up a pain reliever like Infant’s Tylenol (pictured below) and make her feel better in a short matter of time. ¡Sana curita y ya! It makes for less running around and more time to spend on things that really matter – like family QT.
Sharing Mexican and Colombian backgrounds, Juan is always making sure his children grow up learning and absorbing all the obtainable knowledge from their mom and grandma, in order to make the right choices when reaching their adult life, as well as keep taking care of each other as a family. When it comes to sharing knowledge with our children, the Jimenez family and mine are in complete agreement. My husband and I, both from very different backgrounds, he’s Russian and Italian and I’m Puerto Rican, love for our parents and brothers and sisters to share their knowledge about cultures. We encourage the stories. It molds our daughter to be well-rounded and strengthen her identity. Whether it be a song, a recipe, a fable, it’s all an essential part of our lives! We celebrate Hanukah and Christmas and it’s so much fun. Pavochon and motza, it’s all good.
The Jimenez family are a true example of the beauty that is a multi-cultural family. It makes for a quality of life that is worth while.
When it comes to quality of life, I only use the best products. I love to keep healthy essentials around like Lubriderm, Neosporin, Johnson Shampoo and Leave-in conditioner, Listerine, and BENGAY because they keep up with our lifestyle and needs. They satisfy 100%. I wouldn’t trade them for anything other because they’re the best.
