Last Saturday was pretty *singing* amazing.
It all started with an early morning wake-up call. We love to sleep in on Saturday mornings but getting up extra early was necessary to be in for a very special treat! My daughter and I were invited to take a sightseeing kids cruise right out of New York City, 42nd Street Pier to be exact. BIG thanks to Sarah of Old School New School Mom for giving us a heads up about this amazing opportunity. 🙂
We arrived in NYC and walked down to the water from Times Square. It’s a great walk, especially in the morning.
The customer representatives at the pier gave us a warm welcome and we were aboard the Circle-Line Kids Cruise before we knew it. Aboard the cruise was LIVE music, balloon animals being made for the kids as well as a face painting station. My daughter loves to get her face painted so I stood on the line and after a few minutes my daughter transformed into a fairy princess! We grabbed a snack and headed for the top deck where we caught some incredible photographs of Lady Liberty, the breathtaking New York City Skyline, the new Freedom Tower and my favorite, the Brooklyn Bridge. I didn’t even have a cup of coffee yet and felt so energized. I think the sunshine and beauty had something to do with it.
After I took photos of the incredible sights while getting the 411 from the awesome tour guide my daughter and I headed downstairs to check out The Anna Banana Band and The Berenstein Bears play. They were so funky, funny and most of all – entertaining. They had the whole audience playing, singing and even up and dancing. The Anna Banana Band had me singing their tunes long after the cruise ended. Can’t forget to mention that they’re from BROOKLYN! Woot!
My little one and I had such a sweet and wonderful time. We totally reccomend waking up early and taking advantage of a fun time like we did.
