After a successful career as a writer and chef on and off television, Chef Daisy Martinez announces her new website www.chefdaisymartinez.
Chef Daisy Martinez – known for her best-selling cookbooks, cooking shows on PBS and FoodTV and efforts to eradicate HIV/AIDS as a spokesperson for Dining Out for Life – is currently filming her latest venture: a documentary-style web series which will feature the chef, both in the kitchen and out with her fans, friends and those she meets in her travels, sharing our similarities, learning from our differences and exploring our emotional connection to food.
A message from the Director, JD Urban:
To me, Daisy is a skilled chef with a giant vocabulary and wicked sense of humor. She’s a woman who cares about her CRAFT above all else. She inspires me, makes me laugh and drives me nuts when she flies through a recipe filming as if there are seven cameras on her instead of two. She challenges me and I look forward to further developing this idea before your very eyes.
Recently, we completed the first round of photo shoots for the series which will present Daisy in a variety of archetypical female roles ranging from Punk Rock to Pinup. These images highlight the transition Daisy has made from wife and mother to newly single in a world not entirely familiar to her – just yet.
Technically – The show was shot on a variety formats and is presented in color cross process and black and white. In other words, it won’t be something you are used to seeing outside of a film. But Daisy is not like most chefs I have met.
Here is a video teaser featuring the track “Do It With A Rockstar” by Amanda Palmer. First episode premiers July 31.
