A couple of weeks ago, someone online asked the million dollar question… Why do you blog? In my head, I answered it in three different ways but hesitated to answer it publicly because I felt like maybe people wouldn’t like my answer. Days later I met with a couple of amazing bloggers I know and get to call “my amigas” for dinner and shared my answer with them. There immediate reaction was “Girl, you should blog about that!” So here goes…
Why do I blog?
I blog because I’m lonely sometimes. My public, my audience , you right there reading this is the reason I blog. You’re the ears that are always listening. You’re the eyes that are always watching. You’re the voices I need to hear when things aren’t going as smooth as they’re supposed to be.
I also blog because I’m shy. Yes, believe it or not I wasn’t what you call a “social butterfly”. My blog gets me to open up about things I wouldn’t normally share. My blog encourages me to come out of my shell. It finds my voice within when I don’t feel like talking.
I’ve met some incredible individuals through The Digital Latina. This blog is the reason I call some really special individuals my friends, my comadres. Can you believe that my blog has connected me to people I would only meet in my dreams! Now those people call me friend.
The Digital Latina has made things that were imposible, possible. (Like having a story about the power of social media and your blog mentioned in a book or having my tweet go live on the White House blog.)
Those are the reasons why I LOVE to blog. And I can’t imagine doing anything else.
So you ask me why do I blog but the real question is – why aren’t you blogging yet?
