Dear Mara,As Mother’s Day approaches, a celebration of motherhood, I simply look at you and am filled with utter joy. You’re everything I’ve always wanted. You’re funny and friendly, smart and sassy, beautiful and brave. Because of you, I believe anything is possible. Because of you people call me a great mami. Without you in my life, I couldn’t even tell you where I’d be.Time passes way too quickly and I catch myself trying to savor every moment. I jot every milestone down. I just don’t want to miss a thing. And with each season that passes, you grow a little taller, a lot brighter, and so beautiful. You certainly got the best of daddy and I but I thank God for that. I thank God everyday for you. I consider myself a very lucky lady. 🙂As you grow, our love grows deeper and our lives richer. You keep us smiling. You make our family extra special.I’m so thankful for daddy. He’s such a great daddy, isn’t he? We are very lucky to have him too. Without him, how could you do all those fun things you do like baseball and tennis? I know you consider Daddy to be the “fun” one and that’s O.K. You know why? Because when you’re not feeling well, you always run to me. I take a lot of pride in that. It makes me feel good when I know you feel better. It’s as if being held in my arms automatically makes you feel better.Remember the time you had a bad allergy reaction to the sunscreen while we were on vacation? I ran to almost every pharmacy in Florida, looking for the right medicine to make you feel better. I rushed back to the ship to rub you down and make sure you were O.K. As I applied the cream to your little face and arms, you looked at me and I saw trust in your eyes. You believed me when I told you everything was going to be fine. It’s moments like those that make motherhood so worth it.Remember that I’ll always be there for you.Thank you for making my Mother’s Day so special.Love,Mami
