When you think medicine and prescriptions does worrying about costs or side effects come to mind? Those are two very important aspects to me in choosing the right meds. As an eczema sufferer myself as well as a mother to a child with mild asthma, getting the right medicine at the right time in an affordable way, are keys in our path to healing.
As costs of prescription go up there are still ways of getting the medication you need for yourself and your family at the right price. Building an open relationship with your pharmacist helps a great deal. They can help you get the right medication, either brand name or generic, that best suits your needs.
For example, just the other day, I ran out of a prescription and quickly dialed my doctor to request a refill. Afraid that if on vacation a flare up would arise, I wanted to keep the medication handy. My doctor called my pharmacist who was able to set it all up for me at my convenience. My pharmacist noted that my insurance would cover it after a certain date so that my costs would be much lower.
