It was freezing this past Sunday but that didn’t stop my mom, daughter and I from mustering up the courage to go to the theater! Thanks to MamaDramaNY, I had two tickets to see ASSISTANCE. With PLAYTIME making it so easy for a mom like me to go see a show I couldn’t pass on the experience.
ASSISTANCE had my mother and I laughing at the hillarious and witty performance while feeling empathy for these hard working assistants. Managed by an evil boss who doesn’t appreciate their hardwork, the assistants take breaks from their positions at the firm at times to become “people”. In some ways we related to them being that we both work in office settings. This show had a little of everything romance, drama, suspense, comedy and an incredible ending, well you’ll just have to see it yourself!
While my mom and I blushed and chuckled my daughter was upstairs singing and dancing and even helping out with choreographing steps to a song written by the PLAYTIME sitters. PLAYTIME is New York Theatre’s first-ever child enrichment program that provides art, culture and care for kids at a rate you can afford. Participating theatre companies include Playwrights Horizons and Signature Theatre as well as the shows “Love, Loss and What I Wore” and “Rated P”. PLAYTIME sitters are not only child care professionals equipped with full background checks, they’re also dancers, singers, and musicians. Just call them “Artisitters”! Needless to say my daughter was in her realm! She absolutely loved it. She can’t wait to go again and knowing my child was in great hands during the show would absoultely encourage me to go to the theatre more often.
