Sad to say… but summer is a-l-m-o-s-t over.
This summer has been amazing so far, I hope yours was just as great or even better!
Beach, barbecue’s and burger filled days are sort of behind us and the new school year is ahead. As a mother, preparing for a new school year is pretty stressful. In order to keep my healthy glow and my skin feeling great I prepared a list to help stress a little less this semester. I hope that it can be of use to you as well!
This mommy’s stress levels are slowly rising but I know these tips can cut them back significantly.
# 1 -Knock It Out
Shopping for back to school can be a major stress factor. Crowded shopping malls, cranky kids, and grouchy cashiers can all be avoided if you knock it out now. Yes, it’s tempting to leave things for last minute but if you can start shopping now, do so. Shop during a lunch break or after work. Leave your weekends to other errands like that much needed manicure.
# 2 – Pack A Lunch
My daughter can turn me into the short order chef I never wanted to be. I try to keep the lunch menu options limited, versatile, and healthy. Choosing between multi-grain bread sandwiches and cold pasta salad made from leftovers from the night before can make packing lunch easier. Choosing power fillers like peanut butter and substituting sugar-filled snacks for fresh fruit is not only healthy but tastier too. To keep things interesting, I freeze her yogurt sometimes. ** An eco-friendly water bottle is a must. Keeping my daughter hydrated and energized makes me feel more at ease.
# 3 – Set The Tone
It’s a new school year, a new beginning remember to make great first impression. Meet and greet your child’s teacher! Set the tone for the rest of the year with a great big smile. Stay positive and set the goals high. If possible, create a homework schedule that you and your child can work with and follow through. It never hurts to plan ahead.
